Obituary of Helen Armino

Helen Armino, age 89, of Bridgeport, a retired seamstress for the New Haven Coat Factory, died on Friday, July 6, 2007 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Springfield, MA, she was a daughter of the late Carlo and Benevenuta Bonavita Russo. Mrs. Armino was a member of the Ladies International Garments Workers Union and a former Union Steward. She had a great sense of style, was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, decorating and sewing. Her greatest joy was making other people happy and she always put others needs before her own. She will always be remembered for her kindness, generosity and hospitality.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Ralph (Brownie) Armino, a brother, Anthony Russo and two sisters, Millie Garofolo and Violet Russo.

She is survived by her loving family, a sister, Lubelle Tedesco of Stratford, nieces, Maria Walsh, Kristine Tedesco, Susan Tedesco, Eileen Russo and Hilda Onuska, nephews, Tom Tedesco, Anthony Russo, Carl Russo, Marc Agriesto, Joseph LaPorta and Gene Walsh, great nephews, Kevin and Ryan Walsh and Christopher Tedesco, a great niece, Taylor Tedesco, a great great niece, Annabella Walsh and many loving and devoted friends. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Bridgeport Hospital Hospice Department for the loving care they provided. 

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will be follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
