Obituary of Haig Dikranian

Trumbull Resident Haig Dikranian, age 73, of Trumbull passed away suddenly on November 2, 2012 at St. Vincents Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maryann Khachadoorian Dikranian. Born in New York City, NY, on November 10, 1938, he was a son of the late Hratch and Siran Missirlian Dikranian. A U.S. Army Veteran, Haig was also employed by the NY Telephone Co. as a technician. Haig was a very active member in the Armenian community. He was the founder and head coach of the St. Johns University Club Soccer team. Prior to that he played for Adelphi University, the Bridgeport Soccer Club and the Armenian Soccer Club. He was proud to have been the co-founder of the Victory Soccer School. He coached many youth teams throughout Long Island, NY, CT and FL and most recently the South Central Premier Soccer Club. Haig was also a very active and passionate referee and credits himself as being the creator of the two man corner kick. He was the devoted and proud father of his three sons, Jack Dikranian and his wife Adrienne, Fred Dikranian and his wife Karissa, and Armand Dikranian, all of Tampa, FL, brother of Armand Dikranian and his wife Sue of Branford and Doris Davis and her husband Dan of TX. Other survivors include nieces and nephews, Susan Dikranian, David Dikranian, Ryan Davis and his wife Stephanie, Bethany Phillips and her husband Jonny, Mary Flynn and two great nieces, Bria James & Courtney Flynn. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012, at 12:00 noon directly in the Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension, 1460 Huntington Tpke., Trumbull. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with a wake service conducted at 7:00 pm.
