Obituary of Dominic Arminio

U. S. Army Veteran Dominic Arminio, age 72, of Trumbull, died suddenly on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at his residence. Born in Bridgeport on September 23, 1934, he was a son of the late James Vincent and Michelina Romano Arminio. A U. S. Army veteran, he was a science teacher in the Trumbull School System before beginning a career in administration in the Danbury School System where he was currently working as a Guidance Administrator with over 40 years of service. His work was a passion not a chore. Mr. Arminio was dedicated to helping people and making a positive contribution to his community, having over 40 years of service to the Town of Trumbull in many capacities most notably the Town Council and the Planning and Zoning Commissions where he had also served as the chairman. He also served on the Civil Service and Wetland Commissions. He was a member of the Trumbull Center Lions Club and could be found most mornings at Maries Diner in Trumbull Center with the The Breakfast Club. He also spent summers at Misquamicut Beach in Rhode Island where he knew everyone and everyone knew him. He became very active in the Beach Beautification Commission and most recently the Westerly, Rhode Island Planning and Zoning Board. He was also an active parishioner at St. Clares Church in Rhode Island as an usher. He will be remembered for making everyone smile and always reaching out to help everyone. Dominic was a devoted father and grandfather with a warm greeting and a helping hand and always put the needs of everyone else before himself. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Joan Falango Arminio. Survivors include his devoted children, David Vincent Arminio and his wife, Cheryl of Shelton and Dominique Doris and her husband, John of Trumbull and three cherished grandchildren, Emily, Amanda and Alaina. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a memorial scholarship to be established in Dominics name through the funeral director.
