Obituary of Frances Devan
Frances (Cookie) Stone Devan, age 68, of Monroe, beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 losing her battle with cancer. Born in Bridgeport on July 20, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Gladys Weckworth Stone. She had been formerly employed by Avco and the Gordon Frazier Gallery. Mrs. Devan was a dedicated member for 38 years of the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department, serving in the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed making crafts with her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Paul Devan Jr., three children, Paul Devan III and his wife Kellie of Litchfield, Matthew Devan of Waterbury and Melissa Catalano and her husband Kevin of Monroe, four grandchildren, Miranda, Ryan, Jack and Sarah, a brother, Henry Stone of Monroe, three sisters Kathrine Froman of CA, Judy Coffman of GA, and Valerie Huneke of OR and a sister-in-law Irene Devan of Bridgeport. She was predeceased by a sister Cindy Therian.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. directly in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
