Obituary of Anthony W. DeStefano

Retired Owner and Operator of Post Road Exxon Anthony W. DeStefano, age 91, of Trumbull, the retired owner and operator of the Post Road Exxon in Westport, died on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on September 30, 1915, he was a son of the late Vincent and Mary Amodio DeStefano and a Trumbull resident for 61 years. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a Purple Heart and Oak Leaf Cluster recipient. Mr. DeStefano was a lifetime member of the VFW Clinton Post of Saugatuck. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Grassy Hill and Hillandale Country Clubs and the Tashua Knolls Country Club Seniors League. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Leona Iacozza DeStefano, two sons, William A. DeStefano and his wife, Margaret of Philadelphia, PA and James DeStefano of Trumbull, a daughter, Virginia Fay and her husband Daniel of Tacoma, WA, a brother, George DeStefano of Bridgeport, three sisters, Fay McMahon and Ann Micalizzi, both of Bridgeport and Margaret Gigliotti of Trumbull, eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral Services will take place on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with military honors will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of Mountain Grove Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
