Obituary of Patrick J. Derrig

Patrick J. Derrig, age 89, of Trumbull, a retired welder for Avco Lycoming, died on Friday, January 21, 2005 in St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. Born in Spa Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland, on January 3, 1916, he was a son of the late James and Mary Regan Derrig. A former area resident, Mr. Derrig retired to Melbourne, Florida before recently returning to Connecticut. He was predeceased by two brothers, John and James Derrig.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Rose Cassells Derrig, four loving children, Peter Derrig of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Dr. Pearse Derrig of Claremont, CA, Patricia Derrig Pavia and her husband Joseph and Rosemarie Derrig, all of Trumbull, eight cherished grandchildren, Lisa Derrig Bragaw and her husband Joseph, Corrine Taylor, Peter James Derrig, Christopher Derrig, Kelly Derrig, Kerry Derrig, Katie Derrig and Justin Zier, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

A prayer service will take Place on Wednesday January 26, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Tuesday January 25, 2005 from 5-8 p.m.
