Obituary of Joyce DeRosa

Trumbull Resident Joyce DeRosa, age 64, of Trumbull, beloved wife of Edward DeRosa, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2009 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born on November 16, 1945, in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth Selman. Before moving to Trumbull seven years ago, Joyce was an elementary school teacher for 27 years in the Stamford Public School system. Joyce graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1967 and received her Masters Degree from Sacred Heart University. She was a tireless supporter of many charities, a loving wife and mother and a friend to all. She is survived by her husband, Edward, two sons and seven grandchildren, Michael DeRosa and his wife Rebecca and their children, Jacob, Elyssa and Lauren of Corning, NY and David DeRosa and his wife Karen of Trumbull and their children Alexa, Nicholas, Jonathan and Sofia. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Eisenberg and her husband Arthur of Newton, MA, two brothers, Steven Selman and his wife Valerie of Westford, MA and her twin brother, Edwin Selman and his wife Millie of Avon, MA and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Information A memorial gathering celebrating her life will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
