Obituary of George J. DeRosa

Retired Owner and Operator of DeRosa Tile Co. George J. DeRosa, age 90, of Bridgeport, the retired owner and operator of DeRosa Tile Co., died on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at his residence. Born in Bridgeport on June 13, 1919, he was a son of the late Salvatore and Jennie Macauda DeRosa. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. DeRosa was a past member of the Trinacria M. A. Society. He was pre-deceased by his wife Lena Mingolello DeRosa and a sister Josephine Caserta. Survivors include a sister-in-law Phyllis Mingolello of Bridgeport, nieces and nephews, Kenneth Caserta, Fred Caserta, Linda Posta, Larry Wells, Diane Micalizzi, Michael Mingolello, Sharon Ewaskie and Donna Gyuricscko and several great nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their appreciation and acknowledge the VNS Connecticut Hospice nurse Teresa for her support, Aricare Home Care manager Patricia and especially Ana, his home care aide and companion for her dedication and compassion during his final months. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
