Obituary of Eleanor Argel

Shelton Resident Eleanor Emanuelson Argel, age 72, of Shelton, a homemaker, died on Monday, July 31, 2006 at Bridgeport Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bridgeport on March 26, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy Sundstrom Emanuelson. Mrs. Argel was the president of the Fairfield Womens Golf and Bowling League and the Secretary of the Orchard Womens Golf League. Formerly an active member, she was the craft coordinator of the Pioneer Girls and the Vacation Bible School of the Black Rock Congregational Church. Survivors include her beloved husband of 53 years, Raymond Argel, three children, Debby Zagars and her husband, Ray of Milford, MA, Judy Pollack and her husband, Ed of Shelton and Buddy Argel and his wife, Kary of Naugatuck, four sisters, Doris Stam and her husband, John of Costa Rica, Barbara Curwen of WI, Judith Jinkerson of Canada and Evie Guyer and her husband, Jim of Iowa, seven grandchildren, Dustin, Mike, Danny, Bryan, Carissa-Lynn, Samantha and Sarah, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Memorial Service celebrating her life will take place on Friday, August 4, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Black Rock Congregational Church, 3685 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
