Obituary of Richard William Demarest

Vice President at Alliance Rehab of CT and NY Richard William Demarest, Jr., age 38, of New Haven, beloved son of Dick and Mila of Casa Grande, AZ.; brother to Jeff of Oakland, TN and loving father to Kyan, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2007 in Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his family and friends. Richard (Ricky) came in to this world on April 21, 1969. He was born at Hope U Make It Hospital in Casa Grande, AZ. where he was a life long resident before moving to New Haven two years ago. He attended grade school and high school in Casa Grande and upon graduation enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Persian Gulf. After his discharge from the U.S. Navy, Rick attended Central Arizona College and then went to Northern University of Arizona at Flagstaff where he obtained a Bachelors/Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. Richard practiced in his field while attending The University of Phoenix where he received a Masters Degree in Business Administration. While attending school and working Richard still managed to continue his military career with the U.S. Army obtaining the rank of Captain. Richard later became a Vice President of Operations with Alliance Rehab of Connecticut/New York. Richard had many friends and had adopted families in CT and AZ. He enjoyed life to the fullest and one of his greatest joys was riding his Harley Davidson bike and making people laugh through his offbeat humor and practical jokes. Funeral Information A Memorial Gathering will take place on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 from 68 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, CT, followed by a service at 7:45 p.m. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will take place on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 201 N. Picacho St., Casa Grande, AZ. Committal with full military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. in the U. S. National Cemetery, Cave Creek, AZ. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made for a future scholarship fund to be awarded to a student Physical Therapist in the honor of Richard Demarest.
