Obituary of Carol DelVecchio

Carol Lathrop DelVecchio, age 76, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and formerly of Easton, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale. Born in Bridgeport on January 14, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Thomas B. and Letitia I. Gray Lathrop. Carol was full of grace, poise and charm. She was strikingly beautiful. In her earlier years, she enjoyed playing golf and tennis, and loved everything about fashion and style. Carol was an avid reader who loved to read romance novels and watching old movies of her favorite starlets. Carol was artistic and a very creative person who took pleasure in making flower arrangements for special family occasions and immensely enjoyed taking part and designing costumes for variety shows held at Mill River Country Club, where she was a member with her husband for many years. Carol took pride in her family and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren as well as entertaining and holiday decorating at her dream homes in Easton and Florida. Carol showed great strength throughout her life in which she overcame many adversities and several health issues yet still managed to go on. Carol would always try to put her family first. She was deeply heartbroken on the loss of her husband Mario in 2002, for he was her rock and soul mate and found it increasingly more difficult to live without him. She is now back in his embrace and her heart is smiling. Carol has now joined her lovewho will be together forever. She was pre-deceased by her husband Mario Murph Lawrence DelVecchio Sr., a brother John Lathrop, two sisters, Bernice Rodrigues and Sue Gallo-Fagan. Survivors include her beloved children, Susan Gail Paoletti DelVecchio of Easton, Mario Lawrence DelVecchio Jr. of Easton and Jill Carol Puzzio and her hsband John F. Puzzio of Trumbull, grandchildren, Dana Paoletti, Frederick Paoletti III, Mario Lawrence DelVecchio III, Jillian DelVecchio, Jessie DelVecchio, Justin Puzzio and Taylor Puzzio, a brother Robert Lathrop of West Haven, two sisters, Letitia Lathrop Beauregard, New York and Ethel Lathrop Allard of Missouri, sister-in-law, Lucy Pereira of Monroe and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
