Obituary of Armand Del Medico

Trumbull Resident Armand Del Medico, age 92, of Trumbull, loving husband of the late Anna Pilotti Del Medico, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at St. Vincents Medical Center. Born on April 15, 1918 in the Bronx, New York he was a son of the late Carmelo and Maria Conte Del Medico. A U.S. Army veteran, Armand was a retired employee for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation and after his retirement from the State he spent time working at Arctic Sport Shop in Bridgeport. Armand was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed bowling, but his passion was raising and racing pigeons. As a young boy in New York he enjoyed the sport of racing pigeons and it was something he took pride in showing his children and grandchildren. Mr. Del Medico was a hard working man who loved and cherished time spent with family, he could always be found telling stories of his childhood to all. These traits will always live on in the hearts of family. He was a loving father and grandfather who most of all cherished spending time with his grandchildren and watching his grandchildren grow and become successful adults. Survivors include his two devoted sons, Perry Del Medico and his wife Diane and Armand J. Del Medico and his wife Carolyn all of Fairfield, three cherished grandchildren, Matthew, David and his fiance Monica and Andrew Del Medico as well as several nieces and nephews who affectionately knew him as Uncle Amie. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Pat Del Medico and his wife Billye, Emil (Moe) Del Medico and his wife Marion, Joe Del Medico and his wife Annette, Rae Vetrano and her husband Vincent, Albert Del Medico and his wife Mary, Yola Damone and her husband Frank and Lily Carozza and her husband Eugene and brother in law, Perry Pilotti. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:30 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with military honors will follow in the St. Michaels Cemetery, Bridgeport. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 - 8 pm.
