Obituary of Edward William D'Elia
Edward William D'Elia, Sr., age 78, a lifelong resident of Trumbull, passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Connecticut Health of Southport. Born in Bridgeport on May 14, 1932, he was a son of the late Paul and Theresa Capozzi DElia.
Ed was a graduate of Fairfield Prep and the University of Connecticut and he served in U.S. Army. He was the owner of a Chicken Delight and Lums Restaurants. Ed's warmth, generosity, sense of humor and caring nature will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife Gail Fassler D'Elia, he was the proud and loving father of Ted D'Elia and his wife Karen of Trumbull, Dave D'Elia and his wife Phoebe of Fairfield, and Susan Yoder and her husband Clark of Trumbull. Ed is also survived by his brother Ronald D'Elia and his wife June of Southington as well as many nieces and nephews, and was the beloved Papa to his grandchildren, Amelia, Chloe, Phoebe, Tyler, Daphne, Ivy and Lillian. He was predeceased by his brothers Paul and Frank D'Elia.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Friday from 4 to 8 pm.
