Obituary of John W. D'Angelo

John W. DAngelo, age 92, formerly of Trumbull, died peacefully in his home in Boston on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 on his 65th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary Elizabeth (McCrory), brother Raymond, daughter Mary Rose, son John, son Peter and his wife Margaret, son Martin and his girlfriend Kim Polk, daughter-in-law Linda Roush, niece Ellen Brakefield and her husband Michael, his grandchildren Danielle, Hallie, Carter, and Nathan, and the many nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews that he loved so dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph. Born in New Haven, John was the son of Dominick and Rose DAngelo. He worked in aviation for over forty five years, for the U.S. Navy and for Sikorsky Aircraft, and was beloved by those who worked with him. He became an artist as his second career, and loved to take part in and organize art shows. John taught art at nursing homes and the Bridgeport jail, and volunteered at Saint Vincents Hospital. His passion for his work, art, family, friends, and coworkers was boundless. But most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, and a source of joy to all who knew him. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, February 8, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
