Obituary of Sophie Czernota

Sophie Dziedzic Czernota, age 85, of Bridgeport, a retired employee of Universal Manufacturing, died on Monday, July 16, 2007 in Lord Chamberlain Health Care. Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on April 23, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Eva Bomba Dziedic and a Bridgeport resident for over 60 years.She was a member of the Teamsters Retirees and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Teamsters Retirees and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Joseph J. Czernota.

Survivors include a son, Edward J. Czernota and his wife Carole of Bridgeport, a daughter, Evelyn Johns of Southbury, a brother, Peter Dziedzic of Wilkes-Barre, PA, two sisters, Stella Cybulski of Hudson, PA and Theo Golden of Wilkes-Barre, three grandchildren, Lauren Czernota, Meagan Krushinski and Todd Johns and a great granddaughter as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
