Obituary of Leonard F. Creatura

Fairfield Resident Leonard F. Creatura, age 82, of Fairfield, beloved husband of the late Betsey Galby Creatura, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013 in St. Vincents Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on April 7, 1931, he was the son of the late Grazio Antonio and Lena Segala Creatura. He graduated from Fairfield University with a BS in Accounting, then decided to change his career path to education and attended the University of Bridgeport, where he earned his Masters and 6th year Degree. He spent 30 years as an educator in the Milford School System, first as a math teacher, later as Vice Principal and then Principal at Jonathan Law High School. He also was the Athletic Director, coached golf and was the Assistant Football Coach. His passion was golf and he could often be found at either the Smith Richardson or Fairchild Wheeler Golf Courses. However, his true love was time spent with his family especially his grandchildren. Survivors include four children, John A. Creatura and his wife Joretta of Jacksonville, FL, Leonard G. Creatura and his wife Lesley of Wolcott, Paul A. Creatura and his wife Lori of Satellite Beach, FL and Lisa Beers and her husband Gary of Trumbull, a brother John Creatura and his wife Sheila of Westport, brother-in-law, John Lund and his wife Kay of NC, 13 grandchildren, Heather Phillips, John, Lucas, Jordan and Mariah Creatura, Michael and Sierra Beers, Gina, Marisa, and Anthony Creatura and Dina, Liza and Kira Creatura, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 7:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 8:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Assumption Church, Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a childrens charity of ones choice.
