Obituary of Joan Corica

Bridgeport Resident Joan D. Corica passed away peacefully on August 14, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease with her family by her side. Noni Joan was born May 3, 1932, in Chicago, Ill. to Edward and Anna Hagenbart . She was a long-time Bridgeport resident and retired from the Bridgeport Board of Education after 28 years. Noni Joan faced her difficult journey with a positive attitude. The love for her family was well known. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, trips to the casino and the Yankees. She did and will continue to serve as an inspiration to us all. She was predeceased by her brother Donald Hagenbart. Noni Joan is survived by her husband of 57 years Agostino S. Corica and her three sons, Carmen Corica and his wife Dawn, Danny Michael Corica and his wife Diane and Augustine Corica. She was especially proud of her four grandchildren, Dan Augustine, Paige Ann, Nicole Marie and Carmine John Corica. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of DaVita Dialysis and the staff of Bridgeport Hospital for their kindness and compassion. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Jude RC Church, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday August 18, 2009, from 4-8 pm Donations Information In lieu of flowers, Noni Joan would like donations in her name to be made to DaVita Dialysis and Bridgeport Hospital Hospice care.
