Obituary of Robert E. Cooper
Robert E. Cooper, age 92, of Bridgeport, founder of Cooper Manufacturing, died peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2011 in Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center, Stratford. Born in Bridgeport on December 13, 1918, he was a son of the late William H. and Margaret Freeman Cooper and a U. S. Army Corp of Engineers veteran. Mr. Cooper was a member of the Stratford High School, class of 1937 and a charter member of the Raymond T. Goldbach VFW Post of Stratford. He was a former avid bowler and fisherman.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of 61 years, Rosemarie Charney Cooper, two brothers, William and James Cooper and a sister, Winifred Lynch. Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to meet directly in the St. Monica Mausoleum of the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. for committal services with military honors. There will be no calling hours.
