Obituary of William J. Cook
William Joseph Cook, age 89, a retired garment cutter for the Fair Shirt Co.and Levines Coat Co., died on Saturday, May 29, 2004 at his residence surrounded by his family. A lifelong Bridgeport resident, he was a son of the late Joseph and Jennie Wargo Cook. A U. S. Army veteran of World War II, he enjoyed painting and took great pride in gardening.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Ann Voronelis Cook of Bridgeport, two devoted daughters, Deanna Pietrowicz and her husband Alessio of Bridgeport, Janet Wheeler and her husband Robert of Longmont, Colorado, a brother Ernest Cook and his wife Irene of Easton, a stepbrother Nicholas Cook and his wife Irene of Winter Park Florida, six loving grandchildren, Dawn Caserta and her husband Fred, Craig, Holly, and Tara Pietrowicz, Eric Wheeler and his wife Alyx, and Kyle Wheeler, one cherished great grandson, Leo Caserta and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home 419 White Plains Rd. Trumbull and at 10:30 a.m in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
