Obituary of Joseph Mark Convertito

Retired Bridgeport Police Sergeant Joseph Mark Convertito, age 59, of Huntington, a retired Sergeant for the Bridgeport Police Department, died on Sunday, February 12, 2006 in Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by his loving family. In addition to his 30 years of police service, he was also the owner of South Avenue Auto and was known for his passion for Corvettes and other vintage cars. Born in Bridgeport on August 24, 1946, he was the son of Joseph and Delores DeMartino Convertito of Trumbull. He is survived by his wife Katherine Elliott Convertito and her two grandchildren Amber and Cameron. Joseph is also survived by his former wife, Arlene Convertito and their three loving children. Christopher Convertito of Houston, TX and his fiance Nancy Harkey, Scott Convertito and his wife Melissa of Cheshire, CT and their two daughters Kate and Beth, and his daughter Kerri Lato and her husband Joseph of Beacon Falls, CT and their son Tyler Joseph. Survivors also include his brother Ralph Convertito and his wife Nancy of Huntington, CT and their three children Corey, Kyle and Casey. He is also survived by his nephew Robert Trez of Huntington, CT and his wife Kim and their son Matthew. He was pre-deceased by his beloved sister Noreen Trez. Grandpa will be sorely missed by his three cherished grandchildren Katie, Beth and Tyler aka "The Cook", who he loved dearly. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford.
