Obituary of Josephine Colagrossi

Loving Mother & Grandmother Josephine Benedetto Colagrossi, beloved wife of the late Joseph Colagrossi of Stratford, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 5, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Leonardo and Antoinetta (Fatibene) Benedetto of Bridgeport. Josephine was very involved as a volunteer in the Stratford School System and came to work as the Assistant to the Director of Food Service at the Board of Education until her retirement in 1988. She and Joseph were parishioners at Our Lady of Grace Parish for more than 50 years. Josephine was a member of the Marion Guild and Senior Travel Club. For many years, she and Joseph were very involved with running the kitchen at the annual OLG Christmas Fair. Josephine was known as the family baker, celebrating every loved ones birthday with a special homemade cake. Josie will be best remembered for her pure heart, selfless generosity, love of her family and absolute faith in God. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Colagrassi Junga and son-in-law David Junga, of Stratford, her most cherished grandchildren, Rachel Junga and David Junga Jr. as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed, especially on this first Mothers Day without her. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May, 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 497 Second Hill Lane, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford.
