Obituary of Maria Carolina Goncalves

Beloved Sister & Minha Maria Carolina Goncalves, age 89, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on Friday January 17, 2014 at Cambridge Manor. Born on December 19, 1924 in Ramirao,Portugal she was a daughter of the late Albano Henriques and Dina A. Henriques.She was a former employee of Acme United and before coming to the United States she was a hairdresser in Lisbon, Portugal. She enjoyed time sewing, crocheting and the time she spent with her family and many friends. Carolina was a very loving and caring person who cared deeply for her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. Survivors include two loving and devoted sisters, Maria Natalia Amoros and Maria Sally Mercado and her husband Joe Mercado, all of Trumbull, as well as six nephews and several great nieces and nephews, all who loved Minha dearly. Maria was predeceased by her two brothers, Antonio Henriques and Manual Henriques. The family is especially thankful to the entire staff at Cambridge Manor for their years of compassionate care. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday January 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
