Obituary of Vincenza J. Cirella

Resident of Stratford Vincenza (Jean) Amoroso Cirella, age 85, of Stratford, loving wife of the late George J. Cirella, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born on January 15, 1926 in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Mateo Amoroso. Jean worked alongside her brother for over 25 years at the Center Restaurant and Town Squire Restaurant of Stratford and Fairfield and most recently retired as an administrator for Dr. Bruce Wainer. She was a dedicated and devoted parishioner of St. Marks Church in Stratford, were she attended Mass every day. Mrs. Cirella volunteered countless hours at St. Marks working in the parish office, teaching religious education and spending time in the adoration chapel. She was also a member of the Ladies Guild and the Circle of Friends. Survivors include two children, Georgene Fasanella and her husband Matt of Stratford, Edward J. Cirella and his wife Susan of Shelton; a brother, Anthony Amoroso and his wife Josie of Stratford; five grandchildren, Matthew Fasanella and his wife JoAnn, Anthony Fasanella and his wife Angela, Christopher Fasanella and his wife Vanessa, Kimberly Cirella and David Cirella; seven great grandchildren, Jenna, Anthony Jr., Nicholas, Kyle, Matthew, Caitlin, Portia and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 9 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in St. Marks Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
