Obituary of Francis D. Chiappetta

Francis D. Chiappetta, age 91 of Monroe, previously of Greenwich, passed away December 22, 2009 at Griffin Hospital. He was born on January 13, 1918 to Rosa and Joseph Chiappetta. He was predeceased by his brothers: Albert, Anthony, Quintin, and William, and his two sisters: Angelina and Jennie. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Margaret, and his son Joseph and wife Rose Marie (Cookie) of Shelton. He also leaves a sister Josephine Gianfrancesco, sister-in-law Jennie Di Bisceglie, and brother-in-laws Rocco and Peter Scappatura, along with several nieces and nephews. Poppy Frank cherished his loving grandchildren: Mark J. Chiappetta and his wife Lorrie of Chelmsford, MA, Kim M. Del Re and her husband Michael of Seymour, and Stacey A. Buturla and her husband Joseph also of Seymour. He loved spending time with his great grandchildren, his pride and joy, Anthony Joseph (A.J.) & Juliana Chiappetta, Dominic & Victoria Del Re, and Angelina Buturla. He will also be remembered and missed greatly by the Tomasellos, his extended family. Frank was a parishioner of St. Stephen Church in Trumbull. He was a veteran and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He worked as a mechanic and greens keeper at Round Hill Country Club in Greenwich for 45 years. Frank was a gentle man with a beautiful spirit. He had many friends and always gave a helping hand to anyone in need. The Chiappetta family wishes to thank the staff at Shelton Lakes Nursing Home and Griffin Hospital/Hospice for their compassionate care. Funeral Information The family requests that there be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
