Obituary of Raffaele Cerminara

Stratford Resident Cerminara Raffaele Cerminara, age 79, of Stratford, entered into eternal peace at home on Friday, January 13, 2006 surrouned by his devoted family. He was the beloved husband of the late Rosaria Nicolazzo Cerminara. Born and raised in Calabria, Italy, he was the son of the late Francesco and Mariantonia Mercuri Cerminara. He came to the United States in 1955 and was a Connecticut resident over 51 years. He was the retired co-owner of Whites Diner, Bridgeport and C & C Construction with his late brother in law, Angelo Caruso. Mr. Cerminara was a member and past president of the Sacred Heart Society of Holy Rosary Church. He was noted for his hospitality and sharing his wine and suppresatta with family and friends. Another passion was gardening, and he took great pride in sharing his harvest. He was pre-deceased by his wife Rosaria, a son, Luigi (Lou) Cerminara, and two sisters, Angelina and Antoinetta Caruso. Mr. Cerminara was a truly devoted father, grandfather great grandfather and dedicated husband and will be sadly missed. Survivors include two sons, Frank Cerminara and his wife Filomena of Stratford and Greg Cerminara and his wife Linda of Shelton, three daughters, Marie Preteska and her husband Edward of Naugatuck, Antoinette Bonadio and her husband Ted of Shelton and Joanne DiScala and her husband Robert of Trumbull, nine grandchildren, Marie Schilling and her husband Paul, Amber Wiesner and her husband Mark, Ralph Cerminara, Fred and Ralph Bonadio, Shane Preteska, Christopher Cerminara, Gina and Vincent DiScala, four great grandchildren, Kyle, Hannah and Emma Schilling and Leah Wiesner and many devoted nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the St. Michael Garden Mausoleum, Stratford.
