Obituary of Louis J. Cennamo

Retired Bridgeport Fire Fighter Louis J. Cennamo, Sr., age 79, of Bridgeport, a retired firefighter for the City of Bridgeport, died suddenly on Friday, November 2, 2007 at Milford Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Born in Bridgeport on March 8, 1928, he was a son of the late Joseph Cennamo and Mary Rega. A graduate of Warren Harding High School, he was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II who served in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Bridgeport Area Retired Fire Fighters. Well known throughout the community, his generosity and easy going way will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include three children, Lisa Barriga and her husband Carlos of Los Angeles, CA, Jodi Cennamo of Bridgeport and Louis Cennamo Jr. of Huntington Beach, CA, a stepson, Michael Brideau of Huntington Beach, CA, three brothers, Charles Rega and his wife Beverley of Easton, Joseph Cennamo and his wife Donna of Newtown and John Cennamo and his wife Alice of Stratford, five sisters, Patricia Frouge of Bridgeport, Mary Lynn Loomis and her husband Ralph of Stamford, Georgia Nielsen of Stratford, Cheryl Warrington and her husband Ken of Stratford and Anne OConnor and her husband Tim of Massachusetts, one granddaughter Ashley Barriga, a special nephew David Frouge as well as many other additional nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with military honors will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
