Obituary of James Cecchini

James Cecchini, age 82, of Bridgeport, a retired inspector for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation, died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on June 5, 1922, he was a son of the late Innocent and Amelia Manzzanti Cecchini and a lifelong city resident. Mr. Cecchini was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was the past president of the Marchegiana Societies of Bridgeport and New Haven, a member of the Derby A. M. Club and a life member of Disabled American Veterans and Port Five.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Tragianese Cecchini, a sister, Vera Russo and her husband, Carl of Seymour and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Margaret's Shrine, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
