Obituary of Ben L. Cavaliere

Trumbull Resident Ben Bounoventuro Louis Cavaliere, age 84, of Trumbull, beloved husband of Margaret Gross Cavaliere, died at his residence on Friday, November 14, 2008 after a brief illness. Born in Bridgeport on July 2, 1924, he was a son of the late Louis and Camilla Colonnese Cavaliere. A U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, he served as a medic in the European Theater #643 Medical Clearing Company. Mr. Cavaliere worked as a bricklayer for many years and was a member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local #1. He was also the Building Inspector for the Town of Stratford. In his retirement he enjoyed repairing lawnmowers. He was a member of the Long Hill Fire Department with 56 years of service and was a first assistant fire chief as well as being a fire commissioner for 10 years. He was an avid gardener and winemaker. In addition to his wife of nearly 60 years, his survivors include his daughter Nancy Cavaliere-Fisher and her husband Stephen of Trumbull, and his beloved grandchildren, Barrett and Rhegan. He also leaves four brothers Vincent, Anthony and Louis Cavaliere, all of Trumbull and Gerald Cavaliere of Newtown and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull.
