Obituary of Josephine Cascella

It is with the deepest sorrow that the passing of Josephine DeBone Cascella age 91, of Trumbull, took place on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008 in Lord Chamberlain Health Care. Born in Norwalk on September 29, 1916, she was the third of eleven children born to the late Anthony and Rose Vena DeBone. Josephines primary role since her marriage to Pasquale (Patsy) Cascella in June of 1944 was that of wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. During World War II, Mrs. Cascella was employed at the General Electric Co. inspecting aircraft panels and controls. She also served as a Civil Defense Air Raid Warden. Josephine was a person blessed with boundless energy and devotion. A consummate homemaker, Josephine learned how to sew at the age of 12. A seamstress at heart, G.G.truly enjoyed sewing slipcovers, draperies and clothes for all of her family and friends for over 80 years. In her late years, she enjoyed working as a seamstress at St. Josephs Manor. She will always be remembered for her high spirit; vibrant personality and always making everyone feel welcome at her home, which no one ever left hungry. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her beloved Patsy, six brothers, Salvatore, Andrew, Bart, Joe, John and William and two sisters, Florence Olivia and Lena Sardaro. She will be forever missed by her three loving children, Douglas Cascella of Trumbull, Elaine Cascella Warner and her husband Kevin of Oxford, Patricia Cascella Calabrese and her husband William of Stratford, a brother, Anthony DeBone of Norwalk, a sister, Helen Salamone of East Norwalk, four grandchildren, Carly Wiesniak, Ryan Spain and Lauren and Christina Calabrese, two great grandchildren, Grace Erodici and MacKenzie Lucas and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
