Obituary of Antonietta Caruso

Antonietta Caruso, age 73, of Stratford, entered into eternal rest at Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side on Saturday, March 26th, 2005. Born and raised in Calabria, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Mariantonia Cerminara. She arrived in the U.S. on the ship Andrea Doria in 1955. She was married to her beloved late husband Angelo for 47 years. Antonietta was a Connecticut resident for 50 years, residing in Stratford for the past 42 years. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Sacred Heart Society. She was the TRUE definition of a wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a kind and gentle soul and will be TRULY missed by all who knew and loved her. She loved to garden and her cooking will be GREATLY missed. She cherished the time she spent with her family the most.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Angelina Caruso of Australia.

She is survived by her daughters, Angelina Rizio and her husband, Mario, of Monroe, and Maria Sanzo and her husband, John, of Monroe; and her sons, Joseph Caruso and his wife, Olga, of Trumbull, and Frank Caruso and his wife, Michele, of Trumbull. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Tony, Angelo, Frankie and Marie Rizio of Monroe, Joey Deanna and Matthew Caruso of Trumbull, Adriana, Christina and Julia Sanzo of Monroe, and Alexa and Gianna Caruso of Trumbull; her brother, Ralph Cerminara of Stratford; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved VERY much.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, March 31, 2005 at 9 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10 a.m. in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stratford, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, March 30, 2005 from 4 to 8 p.m.
