Obituary of Daniel L. Capozzi

Daniel L. Capozzi, age 90, of Bridgeport, retired vice president of Brew Printing Co., was born into eternal rest on Sunday, April 22, 2012 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on April 1, 1922, he was a son of the late Rocco and Theresa Marconi Capozzi and attended Harding High, Bullard Havens, the Citadel in South Carolina and Georgia Tech. Mr. Capozzi was a WW II U.S. Army Veteran who was awarded the Purple Heart while serving in the 100th Infantry Division. He was a former Trustee of Holy Rosary Church and chairman of the St. Anthony Feast for10 years. Dan had been appointed a Knight of St. Gregory by former Bishop Egan. He was a past president of the Mill River Country Club. He was an original commissioner on the Commission on Aging and had served on the Board of Purchases for the City of Bridgeport. Survivors include his son, Daniel Capozzi of Bridgeport, son-in-law, Anthony Drew of Trumbull, three grandchildren, Pamela Drew, Daniel Drew and David Drew and Lynn Marie, nephews, Deacon Dan Ianniello and his wife Ilene, Vincent Comporato and his wife Denise and Donald Vernuccio, nieces, Rosemary Iacurci, Rosanne Gallant and her husband Charles, Theresa Micklos, Donna Capozzi, Debra Mancini and her husband John and Elaine Fry and her husband James and many grand nephews and nieces, great grand nephews and nieces. He was pre-deceased by his wife, Evelyn Ianniello Capozzi, his daughter, June Drew, three sisters, Margaret Vernuccio, Mary Ianniello and Edith Comporator, two brothers, Nicholas and Anthony Capozzi. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Rosary Church, 365 East Washington Ave., Bridgeport on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Friends can greet the family at the church on Thursday morning after 9:00 a.m. until the Mass time. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There are no calling hours. Arrangements by the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, Trumbull.
