Obituary of Anthony J. Capodagli

Lifetime Bridgeport Resident Anthony J. Capodagli, Sr., Tony Cap, 71, a lifetime resident of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 10, 2008 in his home and surrounded by his family. He was born on April 3, 1936, the son of the late Anthony and Carmella (Braca) Capodagli. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Mary (DiCosmo) Capodagli; three devoted children, Cynthia Capodagli, Anthony Capodagli, Jr. and his wife Michelle, and Nancy Bothos, and her husband Alexander; four cherished grandchildren, Sarah and Joseph Capodagli, and Nicholas and Michael Bothos; and his brother, Bernard Capodagli, and his wife Geraldine; a sister-in-law, Lena Tenney, and her husband Alan; and mother-in-law-, Francesca DiCosmo. Mr. Capodagli is also survived by his aunts, Theresa Giannetta and Violet Braca, as well as several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Florence Esposito. Anthony was a proud American who served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the City of Bridgeport as a plumber, and was a member of Local 777. Upon his retirement, he worked for many years at The Home Depot where he also enjoyed supporting the monthly kids workshops. He was a member of the AM Marchegiana Club in Derby where he played Santa Claus for 20 years, and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, as well as the American Legion. He will be remembered as a hard working man who was always there for his family and friends. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and the light of his life. He was always very appreciative of his many dear friends and family, and the love and support they provided over the years, and especially throughout his illness. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday February 14, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Rd., Fairfield for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment, with full military honors, will follow in the St. Monica Mausoleum of the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
