Obituary of Shirley D. Cantiello

Resident of Milford Shirley Deborah Ward Cantiello, age 81, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2006 surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was a daughter of the late Christopher and Ruth (Cook) Ward and was born in Hartford on November 7, 1925. She was a Bridgeport resident for 50 years, before moving to Milford. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Antonio James Cantiello, a son Dennis James Cantiello, a sister, Beryl Pinney, sisters-in-law, Annette Siedel and Katherine Berardi. She was retired from Bridgeport Hospital after 20 years in the Central Processing Department. After retirement she was a volunteer at Bridgeport Hospital and a blood donor. Shirley will always be remembered for her optimistic nature and her selflessness. She charmed all who knew her. She always encouraged and supported all those she knew. It was important to her to help other people especially those less fortunate. To her family, she was the wind beneath their wings. Survivors include three sons, Ronald Cantiello and his wife, Diane of Southbury, Antonio James Cantiello, Jr. and his wife, Joanne of Monroe, Richard Cantiello and his wife, Lisa of Milford, three daughters, Deborah Gorton and her husband, Eugene of Trumbull, Janis DAndrea and her husband Frank of Guilford and Robin Mihalick and her husband, Mark of Milford, eleven grandchildren, David, Michael, Frankie, Kristy, Dana, Gina, Nicole, Kelly Evan, Lauren and Jade, four great grandchildren, Kelly, Marisa, Liberty and Richard, four sisters, Gwen Potz, Sharon Macdonald, Avis Euglow and Pati Marcella as well as several nieces and nephews and their families. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, December 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
