Obituary of Katherine Caminiti

Resident of Trumbull Katherine (Casano) Caminiti, age 88, of Trumbull, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010 in St. Vincent Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 30, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Calogero and Assunta (Mangione) Casano. She retired from A&S in Trumbull in 1994 and from Macy's in Trumbull in 1997. She formerly owned and operated the Long Hill Food Market in Trumbull alongside her husband. She was pre-deceased by her husband Nathaniel J. Caminiti, a son Joseph A. Caminiti and brothers and sister-in-law Frank and Ann Casano, Andrew Casano and Biagio "Bill" Casano. She is survived by her beloved son Charles F. Caminiti and his wife Antonetta (Baldino) of Naugatuck; daughter-in-law Marilyn (Fabry) Caminiti of Apopka, FL; devoted niece Sandra (Casano) Terebesi and her husband Ronald of Trumbull; sister-in-law Grace Casano of Bridgeport; her cherished grandchildren, Margit Caminiti of Charleston, SC, Jonathan Caminiti of Charleston, SC, Mary Kate Walsh and her husband Michael of Longwood, FL, Samuel Caminiti and his fiance Tiffany Berthold of Meriden, Dawn Caminiti of Naugatuck, Kathleen Ferreira and her husband Jeffrey of Bethel and Amanda Caminiti of Naugatuck; two great-grandsons, Justice Lee and Vincenzo Charles; and several other nieces, nephews and dear friends. Katherine was a member of St. Andrew's Friendship Club, St. Theresa's Seniors and Trumbull Seniors. She traveled the world with her family and friends, was known for her green thumb and loved cooking Sunday dinners for her family. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place Friday, March 26, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church in Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds in Trumbull.
