Obituary of Vivian Liburdy Burr

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother & Great Grandmother Vivian Liburdy Burr of Trumbull, age 90, passed away at home on January 20th surrounded by her family, after a long illness. Vivian was born in Mount Kisco, NY, the daughter of the late Frank and Nicolena Buzzutto Liburdy. She is survived by her husband George Burr. She was active in all facets of life PTA, St. Marys and St. Theresa Womens Guild, Church Choirs, the Trumbull Historical Society and the Trumbull Republican Party. She served on many boards and commissions, was Chairman of Planning and Zoning, and Trumbull Town Clerk for 8 years. She ran for the position of First Selectman, and although not elected, continued to be active until her early eighties. She delighted in watching her grandchildren participate in activities, and her great-grandsons play sports, draw and paint. She was very proud of their academic, athletic and artistic abilities. She is survived by her two children: George Burr and his wife MaryAnn of Shelton, and Suzanne Burr and her husband Domenic Monaco of Trumbull; two grandchildren: David Burr and his wife Christina of Huntington, and Lisa Burr Carloto of Trumbull; four great-grandsons: Nicholas and Matthew Carloto, and Ryan and Ethan Burr; a brother, Frank Liburdy and his wife Fran of Shelton; nephews: godson Freeman Burr and his wife Eileen of Bloomfield, L. Thomas Sands and his wife Debbie of Huntington, John Sands and his wife MaryEllen of North Haven and several other cousins. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Margaret Sands of Florida. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Saint Joseph Manor Adult Day Center for their kindness and wonderful care, and VITAS hospice. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday January 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven, Trumbull. Friends may call on Tuesday from 3-7 pm.
