Obituary of Robert L. Zigo

Robert L. Zigo, age 70, of Trumbull, a retired employee of American Chain and Cable Co., died on Thursday, August 18, 2005 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on January 6, 1935, he was a son of the late Stephen W. and Mary Clara Mayansik Zigo and a U. S. Navy veteran. Mr. Zigo was also the owner of Skippys Ice Cream and a member of the American Legion, Sylvan Crest Post and the Port 5 Naval Veterans.

He was the devoted husband of 45 years to Rose Corraro Zigo, and will be sadly missed by his five children, Cathy Verrilli and her husband, Joe of Naugatuck, Darlene Greco and her husband, AJ of Stratford, Robert Zigo and his wife, Laura of Monroe, Dr. Tina Zigo of Derby and Heather Chizmadia and her husband, Daniel of Shelton, a brother, Petey Zigo and a sister, Elsie Pekar, both of Fairfield, seven grandchildren, Melissa, Gabrielle and Isabella Verrilli, Christina Greco, Robbie and Kirynn Zigo and Anabelle Chizmadia and another one on the way, several nieces and nephews and his grand dog, Pugsly.

He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Violet Wysocki and Marie DePrinzo and a brother, William Zigo.

Robert Zigo was a strong devoted family man and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. 

Funeral services will take place on Monday, August 22, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. John Cemetery, Monroe. Friends may call on Sunday from 3-7 p.m.
