Obituary of Antonios Dimitrios Zervos

Antonios Dimitrios Zervos, age 83, of Monroe, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2009. He was born in Paleopolis, Andros, Greece on December 6, 1925. He was also known as Agrotis the Farmer. As a young man he served in the Greek Navy and for a short time worked as a seaman in the Merchant Marines. He married his grammar school sweetheart, Mary in December 1951 and have been married for 59 years. They have two children Ekaterina and Demetri. They emigrated to the U. S. in August of 1966. They have been lifelong residents of Monroe, Connecticut. Tony worked as a chef at Andros Diner, Fairfield. He was well respected, hard working and the life of the party. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Survivors include his wife Mary Moustakas Zervos, daughter Ekaterina and son-in-law Leonidas Pertesis, son Demetri and daughter-in-law Helen Zervos, sister Christina Pertesis, six grandchildren, Yianni and his wife Lourdes, Anthony and Maria Pertesis, Anthony, Yianni and Leonardo Zervos, two great grandchildren, Leonidas and Francisco Pertesis and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 4070 Park Ave., Bridgeport with the Rev. Demetrios Recachinas officiating. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. A Trisagion Service will be conducted in the funeral home Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
