Obituary of Maureen Ellen Gill

Resident of Trumbull Maureen Ellen Gill, age 80, of Trumbull, CT, beloved wife of Nicholas P. Gill, MD, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 surrounded by her family. Born in Washington, D.C., she was the eldest of three daughters of the late Peter J. Nee, Jr. and Phosa Ivanetta (Porter) Nee. She graduated from Stone Ridge Country Day School and worked as a medical secretary at Georgetown University Hospital where she met her husband. They married in 1952 and lived in Bridgeport and Trumbull. She enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, painting, gardening, beachcombing and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was honored for her many years of volunteer service at Bridgeport Hospital. A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband and four of her five children, Mary-Kate Gill and her husband Ray Villanova of Woodbury, CT; Nicholas P. Gill, Jr. and his wife Paula of Ridgefield, CT; Peter S. Gill of Trumbull, CT; and Sheila P. (Gill) Marini and her husband Robert of Trumbull, CT, her son-in-law, Fran Gough of Leighton, PA, her six grandchildren, Eric G. Villanova, Lauren C. Villanova, Travis M. Gill, Alana N. Gill, Matthew R. Marini and Michael R. Marini. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Ruth Gill of Stratford, CT, brother-in-law William Savery of DE, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Maura Gill Gough and her two sisters, Patricia Savery and Sheila Kane Cianelli, and brother-in-law, John F. Gill. Funeral Information A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Inurnment will follow in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
