Obituary of Sam Bubernak

Retired Owner of Sam's Getty Sam Bubernak, age 89, of Trumbull, the retired owner and operator of Sams Getty in Bridgeport for over 30 years, died on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in St. Josephs Manor. Born in Old Forge, Pennsylvania on September 14, 1919, he was a son of the late John and Anastasia Bubernak. A resident of Trumbull for 45 years, he was a longtime parishioner of Christ the King Church. Sam was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, who will be sadly missed. He was pre-deceased by a granddaughter Danielle Shea and three brothers, Bill, Mike and Walt Bubernak. Survivors include his beloved wife of 65 years, Carmela Daddona Bubernak, two loving daughters Barbara Merena and her husband Daniel of Bridgeport and Doreen Shea and her husband John of New Milford, five brothers, Steve, Harry, Joe, Paul, and Peter Bubernak, a sister Dora Jadick, five cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Lisa, Johnna, Kyle and Dennis, an adored great grandson Matthew and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, Trumbull for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Sunday from 2-6 p.m..
