Obituary of Grace Del Percio Ward

Stratford Resident Grace DelPercio Ward, age 84, of Stratford, died on Saturday, September 2, 2006 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport, she was a daughter of the late Donato and Maria Trioni DelPercio. She was an active parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, where she had been a Eucharistic Minister and served as former treasurer and president of the St. Theresa Guild. She was also a past PTA president at Barnum School, a former member of the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee, and a member of the Council of Catholic Women. Survivors include her children, a son, Daniel Ward of Cos Cob, two daughters, Ann Marie Swindon and her husband, Dennis and Madeline Schmitt and her husband Brian, all of Shelton, a sister, Raffaella Vetrosky of Trumbull, seven grandchildren, Tina Schiappa, Kimberly Gugliotti, Dennis Swindon, Rachel Hurley, Amanda Swindon, Jonathan Swindon and B.J. Schmitt, eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son, Dennis Ward, three sisters Irene and Rachel DelPercio, Madeline Bonito and three brothers, Mathew, Fred and Daniel DelPercio. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at 9 AM from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull and at 10 AM in Holy Rosary Church, Bridgeport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. The St. Theresa Guild of Holy Rosary Church will pray the rosary on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
