Obituary of Donald A. Wagner

Donald A. Wagner, age 76, of Sandy Hook and formerly of Milford and Monroe, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband for nearly 50 years of the late Barbara M. Shackleton Wagner. Born in Derby on December 15, 1936, he was the son of the late Alfred and Elizabeth Thornhill Wagner. A US Army Veteran, Donald has a long, proud history of working his familys Wagner Christmas tree farm in Trumbull for many years. He was a happy go lucky man who had a love for family and a talent for fixing all things. Before retirement, he was an engineer for the Southern CT Gas Company and also owned his own meter repair business. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Survivors include his children, Laurie L. DiNallo and her husband Michael of Sandy Hook and Mark Wagner also of Sandy Hook, four beloved grandchildren, Connor, Emma, Noah and Joshua DiNallo and a brother-in-law, Peter Wilson of Fairfield. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 11:00 am directly at the Monroe Congregational Church, 34 Church Road, Monroe. Interment with full military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd., Trumbull.
