Obituary of Frederick J. Voccola

Lifelong Bridgeport Resident Frederick J. Voccola age 73, of Bridgeport beloved husband of Eleanor Hanstein Voccola died on Saturday October 3, 2009 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on October 21, 1935, he was a son of the late James and Viola Carbone Voccola. Fred was a retired employee of American Chain & Cable with over 25 years of service; he was also formerly employed by the Town of Monroe Board of Education. A graduate of Warren Harding High School he was a member of the bowling and softball teams at American Chain & Cable. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed. He was predeceased by his son Frederick J. Voccola Jr. and his wife Debbie. In addition to his beloved wife of 54 years, survivors include a daughter Teresa Moccia and her husband Richard of Bridgeport, two grandchildren Michael and Brandie Voccola, a great grandson J.R., a brother James Voccola and his wife Dorothy of Oxford and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday October 6, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m.
