Obituary of Caroline Mary Vizzo

Caroline Mary LaPia Vizzo, age 97, was born on November 15, 1911 in Derby, formerly of Stratford and as of late, the Black Rock Section of Bridgeport died peacefully Saturday February 7, 2009 in Bridgeport Hospital.

Caroline was known for her strength, kindness, and generosity. She was a woman of wisdom, style and grace. She was a daughter to the late Louis Michael and Mary Nicola LaPia. Caroline worked at the Bridgeport Brass Company and was recognized for her excellence and attention to detail. Gram enjoyed traveling, especially to Nevada to visit with her dear niece Barbara and her family and many friends she made over the years there and at St. Alberts Parish. She was a member of the Columbus Girls Club, and an active member of the Baldwin Center in Stratford. She was dedicated to the love and care of her family and will be deeply missed.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony Vizzo, a loving son Louis Vizzo, two brothers, and two sisters.

She is survived by her loving son, Vincent Vizzo and his wife Cathy of Stratford, seven grandchildren, Thomas Vizzo and his wife Anna Maria, Vincent Vizzo, Jr., and his wife Patricia, Paul Vizzo and his wife Christine, Michelle Dalling and her husband Keith, Corinne Ganim, Laurie Schaper and Louis Vizzo, a loving daughter-in-law, Karen Anthony, 17 great grandchildren, 5 great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday February 9, 2009 from 4-8 p.m.
