Obituary of George J. Browning

Milford Resident George J. Browning, age 93, of Milford, a retired machinist for the Remington Arms Company, died on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Ludlowe Health Care Center, Fairfield. Born in Throop, PA on August 31, 1913, he was a son of the late Joseph and Viola Oney Browning. A Milford resident for 16 years, Mr. Browning enjoyed bowling and playing pinochle. He was pre-deceased by his wife of 59 years, Carmeda Cavanaugh Browning, a daughter, Patricia V. Schaefer, two sons, James R. Browning and George A. Browning and his wife Judith, and his grandson, Scott P. Browning. Survivors include three sons, Leon T. Browning and his wife of Janet of Panama City Beach, Fl, Wayne Browning and his wife Marlene of Fairfield, and Robert Browning and his wife Robin of North Haven, a daughter, Sharon Dirga and her husband Peter of Milford, a sister, Jean Norkus of Derby, a sister-in-law, Julie Browning of Trumbull, 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm.
