Obituary of Louise Viglione

Retired Hairdresser Viglione Louise Napolitano Viglione, age 89, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 28, 2009 in Cambridge Manor. Born in Bridgeport on March 28, 1919, she was the daughter of Louis and Catherine Pinto Napolitano. Mrs Viglione and her late husband, Louis, along with their brother-in- law, Phil Rossi, were owners of the Green Tavern Restaurant, a long time landmark in Bridgeports North End. She attended Leons School of Hair Design and enjoyed a 30 year career as a hairdresser, starting at D.M. Reads and retiring from the Macys Beauty Shop in Trumbull. Mrs Viglione was a member of the St. Andrews Ladies Guild, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Shelton Senior Center. She was also a volunteer at St.Vincent Medical Center, The Ella Grasso Center, and Birthright. She will be remembered for her great love of life and devotion to her family, along with her passion for golf at Fairchild Wheeler, the NY Yankees and the UCONN Girls Huskies basketball team. Mrs Viglione was pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Louis Viglione. She was also predeceased by five brothers, Anthony, John, Frank, Emil and Americo and a sister, Madeline (Molly) Mastri. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Madeline Luzietti and her husband Vincent, two sons, Louis Viglione and his wife Rita and John Viglione and his wife Arleen, 10 cherished grandchildren, Dawn, Louis, John, Michelle and Steven Viglione, Vincent and James Luzietti, Jennifer Spana, Dana English and Evelyn Lang, 16 great grandchildren, Cassandra, James, Jason, Bryan, twins Amanda and Jillian, Taylor, Alexis, Vincent, Samantha, Devin, Shaine, Celia, Carl, twins Caitlyn and Geoffrey, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Mrs Viglione is also survived four sisters in law, Mary Napolitano, Edith Napolitano, Madge Napolitano of South Carolina, and life long friend and sister in law, Elsie Sedita. The family of Mrs Viglione would like to express their gratitude and sincere thanks to Bill Thompson and his entire staff for their excellent care and compassion during our mothers stay at Cambridge Manor. Funeral Information Friends can meet directly at St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave., Shelton on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 10:30 am for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cambridge Manor Recreation Department through the funeral home.
