Obituary of Marion C. Giannini

Trumbull Resident Marion C. Giannini, of Trumbull, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2009, at Bridgeport Hospital, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Henry F. Giannini and mother of Paul Francis and David William Giannini. She was born in Bridgeport to Joseph M. Cuming and Marion Marthes Cuming, being pre-deceased by her parents and her brother William. Devoted daughter, sister, wife and mother, she loved her family, reading, cooking special meals for them and first family dog Simon. She possessed and applied many handcraft skills, knitting and sewing with the St. Theresa Parish Needlers and the St. Lawrence Prayer Shawl group. She was a volunteer reader for CRIS Radio. She was also an active member of Magnificat, and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Andrews Parish in Bridgeport. Marion was also a member of the Red Hat Society. After raising her children, Marion worked for a time at Dresser Industries/Halliburton Corporation, retiring in 1999. She enjoyed foreign travel, Broadway and summer theatre and concerts and other similar entertainment. In addition to her husband and sons and Pauls fiance Joslyn Perchalski, Marion is survived by cousins George and Mary Lou LaBaoult and Louis Cuming and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the kind and gentle staff of Bridgeport Hospital and especially the SICU Nurses and Respiratory Therapists who cared for Marion during her final days. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Tuesday June 2, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Andrew Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marions name to The Crohns and Colitis Foundation or to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
