Obituary of Ruth M. Giannini

Ruth M. Giannini, age 89 of Trumbull, died peacefully January 7, 2011 in St. Vincent's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Norwalk on May 24, 1921 she was the daughter of the late John and Maybelle Hennessey Peterson and was a Trumbull resident for over 56 years. She was a retired data entry supervisor for General Electric Supply Co. The highlight of Ruth's life was spending time with her loved ones and she especially looked forward to her Friday evening and Sunday afternoon family dinners. She always cherished her time spent with her granchildren.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Daniel P. Giannini and three brothers Raymond, Fred, and Jack Peterson.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Giannini and his wife Patricia of Woodbridge, and Donald Giannini and his wife Nancy of Trumbull, a daughter Diane Noia and her husband Robert of Shelton, seven grandchildren Adam Noia, Alyssa Giannini, Timothy Noia, Craig Giannini, Rachel Galas and her husband Matthew, Andrea Lynn Giannini, and Lisa Giannini, and many nieces and nephews.

As the matriarch of our family, she will be greatly missed, but she will always live on as we practice the values and ideals she so proudly instilled in all of us. 

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Trumbull, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. 

Ruth supported many causes and in lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor may be made to your favorite charity.
