Obituary of Salvatore T. Ventriglia

Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather Salvatore T. Ventriglia, age 94, of Bridgeport, devoted husband of Josephine Germano Ventriglia, died peacefully on Friday December 6, 2013 at St. Vincents Medical Center, with his family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on June 11, 1919 he was a son of the late Joseph and Theresa Ventriglia. A U.S. Marine Corp veteran, Sal was a retired employee of Harvey Hubbell with over 20 years of dedicated service. A true gentleman, he will always be remembered for the love and care he gave his family. At 94 years old he drove his wife Josephine to the store and always carried in the groceries and bags. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be deeply missed. In addition to his devoted wife of 69 years, Josephine, survivors include his loving and devoted daughter, Joann Nicholson and her husband Joseph of Bridgeport, three cherished grandchildren, Todd Nicholson, Kelly Benevides and her husband Richard and Kristopher Nicholson and his wife Erin, six adored great grandchildren, Todd Jr., Taylor, Madison, Tyler, Aiden and Lucas as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull, and at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with military honors will follow in the Chapel Mausoleum of St. Michaels Cemetery, Stratford.
