Obituary of Ronald J. Broderick

U.S. Army Veteran Ronald J. Broderick, age 66, of Monroe, beloved husband of Rita Giannettino Broderick, died on Sunday, May 22, 2011 in St. Vincent Medical Center. Born in Bridgeport on June 9, 1944, he was a son of the late Harold J. and Elsie L. Schmidt Broderick. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed at General Motors for over 28 years before his retirement. Ron was a very proud grandfather who loved gardening, flowers and tending to his yard. He was a helpful neighbor, who will always be fondly remembered for his love and care to the neighborhood children. In addition to Rita, his wife of 46 years, survivors include a son, Todd Broderick and his wife Kelly of MA, his cherished grandson, Reid, a brother, Kevin Broderick of Fairfield, two sisters, Karen OClair of Trumbull and Eloise Magnani and her husband Guy of Shelton, two sisters-in-law, Barbara Broderick of Bridgeport and Beverly Broderick of Fairfield, two aunts, Patricia Broderick of Darien and Margaret Robinson of OH, a sister-in-law, Loretta Ciocca and her husband Anthony of Monroe, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Greg and Gerald Broderick. Funeral Information Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. directly in St. Jude Church 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.
