Obituary of John James Tucci

John James Tucci, age 91, of Shelton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2013 in Griffin Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on May 22, 1921, he was a son of the late Samuel and Josephine (Garofalo) Tucci. Mr. Tucci was a graduate of Harding High School where he was the captain of the track team, a member of the Athletic Association and the Orcutt Boys Club. He was a U. S. Army veteran who fought during World War II in the Philippines. John was a member of the 211th Anti-Aircraft Battalion. He received the World War II Victory, American Campaign, Asiatic Campaign and Good Conduct Medals. He was a retired member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craft Workers Local #1 of Connecticut. Most recently, John resided at Wesley Heights in Shelton and Marshall Lane Manor in Derby. He was good hearted with a great sense of humor, and loved being with his family and friends, helping others and enjoyed the outdoors. He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Louis, Fred, Frank, James, Eugene and Henry Tucci and his sisters, Margaret Maida, Theresa Rotini and Carmella Blaise. Survivors include a brother, William Tucci and his wife Dorothy and many nieces, nephews and great nephews. The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and caregivers for their loving care over the years. Funeral Information John was under the loving care of his brother, William Tucci and niece, Monica McMahon who invite you to visit on Thursday, April 18, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home and at 11:00 a.m. in St. Lawrence Church, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with full Military Honors will follow in Lawn Cemetery, Shelton. Donations Information In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Michael R.
